    In 1917, one of the most storied and influential houses in fashion history was founded in San Sebastian, Spain, by Basque-born couturier Cristóbal Balenciaga. A move to Paris in 1937 paved the way for Balenciaga to step into the international spotlight, as the master tailor and visionary designer debuted a slew of now-iconic sculptural silhouettes from cocoon coats to tunic dresses, before retiring in 1968 and effectively closing the house's doors for decades. Along with Nicolas Ghesquière, who served an award-winning stint at the label's helm from 1997 until 2012, current creative director and Vetements cofounder Demna Gvasalia is widely credited with reviving the house to its former glory. Inspired by both the Balenciaga archives and modern streetwear aesthetics, Gvasalia creates highly covetable pieces like sock sneakers and logo-print totes.

Such nice shoes

I bought these as nice summer sneakers, I ordered them online but when I got them they were so heavy, so big the looked like brick on my feet. They were chunckey and pretty uncomfortable to walk in. I am pretty short so these shoes made me look even shorter. I ended up returning these and got the TRACK SNEAKER. These are slimmer and more comfortable for me. They still have that chuncky lok but feel way better and dont make me look like a gnome lol.

Chunky & Comfy!

I love the comfort of the insole, feels like walking on feather weight. The first time I wore them, I had them on for 18 hours and still felt very comfortable. I will be shopping for deals on more of this kind. I encourage everyone to try them.

Balenciaga Chunky not for everyone!!

This shoe looked really good online. I had never worn the chunky sneakers and wanted to try them. They indeed are "CHUNKY!" They also were extremely heavy so needless to say, I returned them.
