Cute purse but so small

It’s a cute purse but the measurements are deceiving. The length of the base of the bag is not 14 inches. Otherwise it’s a nice bag. I returned and ordered the medium. It says it’s on back order for the ecru. Hoping it arrives before we go on vacation.
